Woman sentenced after bar fracas

A Silloth woman was given a suspended sentence for throwing a glass at a girl who had accused her of chatting up her boyfriend.

A court heard that Sian Potter, 20, threw the glass after her 16-year-old victim knocked her to the floor during the fracas at the bar of the Stanwix holiday village.

The girl was left with scars after the glass hit her in the face, cutting her chin.

Potter, of the Crofts, admitted causing actual bodily harm and was given a three-month suspended sentence.

She was also ordered to pay her victim £750 compensation and banned from the bar for a year.
