Music peer pressure

SKA influenced Glasgow nine-piece The Amphetameanies play The Basement, in Annan, tonight.
The band played there last year and return thanks to (a lot of) public demand.
A representative of The Basement said: “Pressure? It was massive. We were taking calls from regulars, being left messages via our myspace, emails galore, and every time we put a band on, the third question people asked when they came through the door was ‘When are The Amphetameanies coming back?’ Its going to be utterly memorable.”
As well as The Amphetameanies, there will be two supports bands. The Bucky Rage also hail from Glasgow and have been known to wear Mexican wrestling masks while playing surf-punk tunes. Opening the night will be the debut showcase of Ayr band The Hostiles, fresh from supporting Zebrahead at Glasgow Cathouse.
Doors 8pm. Tickets £5 on the door. Open to those aged 15 and older only (bring ID). Check out www.myspace.com/meaniesmusic
