HOW THEY MET: While working together at Comet. They started dating in January 2003.
PROPOSAL: Ryan got down on one knee and proposed after Christmas dinner in 2006.
VENUE: St Paul’s Church, Seaton on December 23, 2007.
THEME: Black, silver and Christmas.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Justin Alexander gown with a silk bodice encrusted in crystals and beads with a full tulle skirt and a crystal tiara from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.
GROOMSMEN: Adam Flett, 25, and Paul Ross, 26, were best men. The bride’s brother Ian Shaw, 30, and the groom’s brother-in-law David Bailiff, 28, were ushers. The bride’s godsons William Adams, four, Coby Bell, three, and 17-month-old Billy McKenna were page boys. They wore black frock coats with silver waistcoats and scrunch ties from Civvy Street, Workington. Billy wore an ivory and silver suit from Little Angels, of Workington.
BRIDESMAIDS: Shelley Greenbank, 27, was chief bridesmaid. Kerry Wedgewood and Shelley Stalker, both 27, were bridesmaids. They all wore black silk dresses from Dresses and Dreams. Rebecca Ousby, 11, Bethany Murphy, five, the bride’s niece Tegan Shaw, two, and the groom’s niece Ellie Bailiff, one, were flowergirls. They wore ivory dresses from Little Angels. The younger flowergirls had fairy wings, wands and sparkly cardigans knitted by the groom’s grandmother.
FLOWERS: A hand-tied bouquet of red roses with fairy lights and diamantes. The bridesmaids had red roses with black feathers and diamantes. All from Seaton Garden Centre.
TRANSPORT: A cream Beauford and a Mercedes from A Touch Of Class in Workington.
RECEPTION: Mulled wine, beer and mince pies reception for 150 guests at the Hundith Hill Hotel near Cockermouth with a further 80 guests in the evening. Santa delivered presents to the children after the meal.
TABLE SETTINGS: Candles on square plates with silver confetti and fairy lights made by the bride; flashing rotating Mr and Mrs postboxes made by Shelley Green; decorated Christmas trees and balloons; and an exploding balloon from Party HQ, Cockermouth.
FAVOURS: Silver baubles with ribbon for the ladies made by the bride, scratch cards for the men and goody bags for the children.
CAKE: A three-tier cake with chocolate, sponge and fruit layers topped with a snow castle made by Frances Murphy, of Workington.
FIRST DANCE: Have I Told You Lately That I Love You by Rod Stewart.
ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie Nights of Workington. The groomsmen performed Relight My Fire dressed as Take That and Lulu.
HONEYMOON: New York and Las Vegas.
