Haines gets the all-clear

JOE Haines will be back in the saddle tonight at Perry Barr to help Workington Comets take on Birmingham Brummies.

It will be the first time that the Comets have fielded a full seven-man since May 10.

Haines, who suffered an arm injury at King’s Lynn last Wednesday, had a practice session at Derwent Park yesterday and came through it with no ill effects.

“Joe had a blast round and looked fine. He suffered no adverse reaction to the arm injury and even had another go. He went well,” said Comets owner Keith Denham.

Haines will come back into the Workington line-up at number four, having ridden there for the first time at King’s Lynn a week ago when he was injured after a fall in the last race.

Tomi Reima has settled into the number two berth, vacated by the badly injured Barry Burchatt, while Charles Wright is now operating at reserve alongside John Branney.
