Dobie backs cash scrutiny idea

Workington Reds chairman Humphrey Dobie has backed the Conference plan to scrutinise expenditure of all their 68 member clubs.

In future the clubs will have to provide quarterly reports on expenditure, including detailed information of payments to the taxman.

It’s being introduced in an attempt to rein-in the clubs after Halifax,Boston and Nuneaton lost their Conference places because of financial problems.
