Reds: Just like watching Argentina next season

Workington Reds will be more Diego than Darren next season with a new away jersey that resembles the iconic Argentina shirt.
The club have opted to change the white top worn on their travels last term for a blue and white striped top, similar to that graced by the great Diego Maradona, with black shorts and sky blue socks.
“When we were a Football League club, our away kit was sky blue, and our new supplier Umbro have got us as close as they can to it,” explained director Alec Graham.
“Supporters like something different now and again, and hopefully they will sell quite well. The sky blue stripe is a little darker than Argentina’s.”
There will be no change to Workington’s traditional home strip.
The new strip is planned to be on the shelves before the start of next season.
It is likely to change again in 2009 when the club plans to bring out a special 125th anniversary kit, and Graham is researching Workington’s first Victorian look.
Meanwhile, Graham reckons the 33/1 on offer with Conference backer Blue Square for Reds to take the title next season to be too big.
He added: “The odds are generous. It’s worth a flutter.”
