Ofsted praise for college progress

LAKES College has been commended in a report for making progress since its last official inspection by Ofsted in December 2006.

The report, which was published recently, is a result of an interim visit carried out at the end of April.

The college has focused staff development to drive improvement, according to the report, enabling learners to experience more stimulating and challenging activities in lessons.

It also stated there is a great use of information and learning technology in lessons.

Cath Richardson, principal at Lakes College, said: “There has been a great effort by staff to drive improvement since the last inspection and that effort has resulted in the positive feedback in this report. We have a good deal to be proud of.”
