Marie Todhunter & Tony Shepherd

Marie Todhunter, 38, is a care assistant at Holmewood, Cockermouth, and Tony Shepherd, 36, owns a roofing company. They live in Cockermouth.

HOW THEY MET: They have known each other since childhood and met up again in the Outback pub in Cockermouth in 2004.

PROPOSAL: On holiday in Florida in the US on July 4, 2006.

VENUE: The Sandals resort at Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on March 6.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory Maggie Sottero gown with a lace overlay and Swarovski crystal detail from Angel Brides, Leeds.

GROOMSMEN: Peter Shepherd, the groom’s father, was best man. They wore ivory and gold suits from Tom Little Formal Wear, of Maryport.

TABLE SETTINGS: Tall vases filled with gypsophila, ivory tea-light holders, gold skeleton leaves and a large candelabra with cream roses.

RECEPTION: On their return, they had a reception at Hundith Hill, Cocker-mouth. A hot and cold buffet was enjoyed by 180 guests on March 23.

CAKE: A three-tier, ivory cake with sugar-craft flowers and crystals.

FIRST DANCE: Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith.

ENTERTAINMENT: MBZ disco and the Chameleons group.

HONEYMOON: Sandals, Ocho Rios.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Sandals.
