Festival do's and don'ts

DO

  • Take a disposable BBQ –they’re great for a cheap, tasty meal that the whole team can get involved in cooking. If you don’t want to cook your own food, suss out the good-quality food vans.
  • Be open and friendly – there are many interesting people to meet at festivals.
  • Take Milkthistle and Berocca – to curb the hangover.
  • Take babywipes – it’s the quickest way to get a wash.
  • Be organised – when it comes to the weather.T-shirts, waterproofs, wellies, towel are all essential.
  • Get involved – if there’s a theme night or fancy dress, play a part in it.

Don't

  • Forget your tickets – you’re not going anywhere without them.
  • Burn out on the first night – pace yourself to make the most of the festival.
  • Wear loose jewellery – in large crowds it can catch on peoples’ hands and clothes.
  • Leave your valuables in the tent – festivals are ideal for thieves so keep your valuables on you or leave them in the car.
  • Worry if you lose your friends – make new ones. You’ll meet up with your festival buddies later.
  • Forget your ID. Festivals can be strict.
  • Worry if you’re grubbier than normal – that’s a key part of the whole festival experience!
