Vote for your top volunteer

THE hunt is on across Cumbria for young volunteer champions who give up their time to make life better for others.
Nominations are rolling in for the Cumbria Community Awards which aims to recognise groups, projects or individuals who improve community life.
But with thousands of young people across the county who deserve recognition, we still need your help.
Perhaps you know a teenager who gets home from school and juggles homework with housework because both parents are disabled?
Maybe you know a youngster who devotes time at weekends to maintaining a wildlife garden for the neighbourhood?
Perhaps there’s a young person who works to help improve communication between the generations in your community?
If you think a young person you know should be recognised for their community spirit in the Cumbria County Council led awards, nominate now.
Category judges will take into account how the person got involved, their commitment and their inspirational stories.
Council leader Tim Stoddard said: “We hope there will be winners in every community and we want to hear about local unknown heroes - people who make a real difference.
“A lot of good work is carried out by people in Cumbria without anyone noticing, and now is the chance for them to receive the recognition they deserve.”
Nominations close on October 5.
