HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Workington in 2001.

PROPOSAL: Russell proposed on Kerry’s 21st birthday – New Year’s Eve, 2004.

VENUE: Christ Church, Broughton on May 31.

THEME: Cranberry, silver.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A duchess satin gown with a sweetheart neckline, decorated with cranberry beadwork and a ruche skirt inlayed with tulle.

GROOMSMEN: James Robinson, 29, was best man. The groom’s brother Neil Mather, 38, the bride’s brother Stephen Douglas, 28, Ian Bethwaite, 24, David Callion, 23, and Neil Simpson, 29, were ushers. Dominic Wilson and Thomas Bethwaite, both four, and Thomas Harrison, three, were page boys.

BRIDESMAIDS: Stacey Moffat, 24, the bride’s sister-in-law Lisa Douglas, Marie Callion, both 28, the bride’s niece Jessica Douglas, 10, and Rebecca Jenkin, nine, were bridesmaids. The bride’s niece, two-year-old Lilly Douglas, was a flowergirl.

FLOWERS: A bouquet of ivory roses, ivy with diamantes. The bridesmaids had similar, smaller bouquets with cranberry detail. Lilly carried a small bouquet of ivory roses with diamantes. All made by the groom’s mother Rita Mather.

TRANSPORT: Daimlers and a Badsworth from Highams Wedding Services, of Hayton.

RECEPTION: A champagne reception at Hundith Hill Hotel for 130 guests with another 70 in the evening.

TABLE SETTINGS: Tall vases with cranberry and ivory roses and cranberry candles made by the groom’s mother.

FAVOURS: Thorntons chocolates for the women, miniature bottles of whisky for the men and party boxes and cherry sweets for the children.

CAKE: A three-tier cake with sponge and fruit layers decorated with cranberry flowers and ribbons from Cakes for all Occasions, Whitehaven.

FIRST DANCE: Nobody Loves Me Like You Do by Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson.

ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie Nights Disco, Workington and Ralph Palmer and Stephen Barlow.

HONEYMOON: Dominican Republic.
