Workington's Knockout Cup final opponents have been left to concentrate on tomorrow’s showdown at Derwent Park.
Somerset Rebels beat Edinburgh Monarchs last night 53-39, but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the Premier League play-offs.
They lost 96-87 on aggregate and their only tangible reward for the season’s efforts would be the Knockout Cup.
The Rebels travel north for Saturday’s first leg before staging the return at the Oak Tree Arena the following Friday.
Workington, though, are still fighting on two fronts – and face a hectic three days next weekend.
The Comets have made their choice of opponents in the semi-final of the Young Shield – but it all hinges on tonight's meeting at Owlerton.
If Sheffield are able to claw back a 21 point deficit and beat the Isle of Wight, then the Comets will pick the Tigers.
But if the Islanders hold onto Tuesday night’s advantage then Workington will choose the Redcar Bears. Berwick Bandits will either race against Redcar or the Isle of Wight in the other semi-final. island.
