Local meat is recalled

A FIRM that shot to fame as a supplier of traditional Cumberland sausage has recalled a small amount of Cumbrian Pancetta ham because of fears over listeria.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a statement confirming that a low level of the bacteria were found in some Pancetta ham supplied by Richard Woodhall Ltd.

No other food products from the firm, based at Waberthwaite near Millom, are affected, says the agency.

Richard Woodhall Ltd has recalled the product, promising a full refund.

The product affected was sold in 100g packets, with a best before date of November 30, 2008. For more information go to www.food.gov.uk.
