Pause For Thorpe Productions is three final year BA performing arts students from Cumbria Institute of the Arts, Hannah Morrison, John Farrington Smith and Rik Thorpe.

Hannah describes the event as “more an evening than just a play”, with two Chekhov farces, The Proposal and The Bear, with musical interludes on piano and accordion (in the bar).

The trio formed the company to bring playwrights such as Chekhov and Shakespeare to a wider audience, as well as take student productions outside the confines of the institute’s theatre and student audiences.

“It’s important for us on our final year,” says John. “It’ll be different from what happens on our course.”

The evening starts at 7pm. Tickets £3/£2.
