100 homes plan to regenerate Cumbrian port and marina

Nearly 100 harbourside homes will become the first phase of ambitious plans to breathe new life into Workington’s port and marina.

Have your say

Breathe new life into which marina??

C'mon, People need to take a 15 minute walk from Workington Town Centre to the Harbour - it's not exactly convenient like Maryport or Whitehaven.

100 new homes wouldn't go amiss though, but get these pie in the sky ideas out of your heads and come down to reality and admit it - harbour tourist development won't work.

Great! I wonder where are all the people going to come from to actually buy these houses? 150 at Stainburn 180 at Harrington, ones at the old hospital being bought by housing associations because they cannot fill them. a new development on the old steel works. No jobs to provide cash and a poor road infrastructure to support all the extra cars.

This is great news the harbour and shore are a lovely area and it would be nice to see it take on a more 'lived-in' look.

The Quay re born,if you could get the fantastic spirit of the old Marsh & Quay down there I will buy a house!

First get rid of the mud in the harbour (look at Whitehaven)
