IN the present financial climate it is easy to see many reasons why Cumbria Police Authority’s decision to close and sell off a number of its stations across the county is a good idea. But that doesn’t mean to say it won’t leave a lot of people feeling just a bit uncomfortable and a little bit worried. A police station can be a reassuring presence in any town.
