Staff at the Times & Star are proud to live and work at the heart of their communities. They champion the local people, businesses and good causes, and celebrate everything that is fantastic about this area.

Lynne Oxberry is the first person to speak to many customers, as she runs our Workington reception.

She has relocated as we have opened a new front counter at Groundwork’s gwk building, in James Street, opposite the current Times & Star building in Oxford Street.

We will continue to offer the same services, whether you want to place or pay for adverts, contact editorial and commercial staff at any of CN Group’s other media centres across the county or find out more about the many Reader Travel trips available.

Adverts you can place include in memoriam, birth announcements, family celebrations, items for sale, private motors advertising, caravan sales, residential lettings, and public and legal notices.

Lynne said: “I am really excited about the move. I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new people while seeing existing customers in a new location.”

Samantha Dawson, Cumbria project manager for Groundwork NE and Cumbria, said: “We’re exceptionally pleased to welcome the Times & Star to the gwk shop to share our space.

“One of Groundwork’s aims in Cumbria is to help improve the communities in which we work. Having the Times & Star here will help us to be even more of a community hub for the people of Workington, allowing our dedicated team to provide further training and volunteering opportunities, alongside important information services.”

As Lynne has relocated to gwk, many of our staff from across West Cumbria have moved to a new location at Energus, Lillyhall, where they are working as one west team to serve our communities more efficiently and effectively.

Our Cockermouth and Maryport district offices will remain in their own communities.

The front counter at gwk is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm (closed for lunch noon to 12.30pm) and on Friday from 9am to 2pm.

To write to editorial and commercial staff, please address correspondence to the Times & Star at the new CN Media Centre at Energus, Blackwood Road, Lillyhall, CA14 4JW.

We are proud that our continued presence and support for the area remains.

New home – same great service!
