Crocked Lunt may be fit to play at Keighley

Hooker Shaun Lunt could be back in action this Sunday – despite a recurrence of his back injury in the win over London Skolars.
The NL2 young player of the year for the past two seasons was taken from the field in the opening quarter of the home clash last weekend and it was feared that he might be out of action for a couple of weeks.
Coach Dave Rotheram is relieved that his key playmaker could be back for the trip to Keighley on Sunday but half back Bryce Poisel will definitely be out.
“There is a chance that Shaun will play, it is not as bad as we first thought but Bryce won’t play. He has seen the physio but he still has trouble lifting his arm,” said Rotheram.
Poisel also left the field in the first 20 minutes of the Skolars game with his shoulder strapped up and Rotheram will now have to wait and see if the Australian recovers in time for the last two crunch matches of the regular season.
But Town’s sights will be firmly set on Keighley this weekend, with Rotheram determined to pick up his first win against the Cougars this season.
“We have played Keighley three times this year and they have all been tight games and I think it is about time that we won one,” he added.
“We have not been far off and hopefully it will all come together this weekend.”
Keighley came out on top 22-18 and 26-22 in the two Northern Rail Cup meetings early in the year and then came to Derwent Park in the league and went home 16-8 victors. Town are currently four points clear of Swinton, who are their nearest rivals for eighth place and the final play-off place in the division.
And another win would be a big boost ahead of tough games against league leaders Gateshead and third placed Oldham still to come.
“We have just got to keep ahead of the pack and keep clear of Swinton for the next three weeks,” Rotheram said.
There could be further boosts for Town this weekend with Mark Routledge and Garry Purdham coming back into the reckoning.
