Line dancing champion Stephanie Coulter is hanging up her dancing shoes in favour of studying.
The 13-year-old star, from Moresby, has won line dancing awards all around the world, but is planning to take a year out while studying at Whitehaven School.
Stephanie will be travelling to Amsterdam in March for her final line dancing competition.
“I’ve decided I’m going to have a total break for a year so I’m not going to compete in any competitions in that time,” she said.
“I’m giving it up mainly because of the stress of it and because it takes up a lot of my time.”
In December, Stephanie travelled to Florida for the Country Dance World Championships and stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort.
She was entered in the youth showcase and the line dancing advanced for youth categories and won two buckles, one for most points in the division, and two trophies for her routines.
Stephanie has been dancing since she was five years old and for the past eight years has been competing in European and World championships.
