A student is aiming to wow judges in an ultimate fitness model competition.
Kieran Congdon is only 20, but his phenomenal physique has already won him Mr International Liverpool 2012 and a place in the final of Mr International GB.
Now Kieran, of Mason Street, Workington has set his sights on Bodypower’s Fit Factor and believes he has a shot at the title.
If he triumphs at the contest in Birmingham in May he would secure a place on the Olympia stage and an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas.
Kieran, who is hoping for one of the supplement companies to sponsor him, said: “My agency thinks I should go for it. If I set myself a goal. I will really knuckle down and be strict with my training and diet.”
Kieran also believes he could have won Mr International GB had he reached the competition on time.
He said: “I had an absolute nightmare. The car broke down that morning and it took two hours for it to be fixed.
“We got there halfway through the competition: I was gutted. It wasn’t to be but I aim to be in even better shape next year.”
He believes that his young age may work in his favour and will demonstrate his commitment and dedication.
“The student stereotype is of someone eating rubbish and getting drunk” he added.
He also plans to enter a competition to become one of Men’s Health magazine’s celebrated cover models.
Kieran, who has just started his third year of a sport and exercise science degree at Ormskirk, wants to combine his budding modelling career with becoming personal trainer.
“I want to give people the chance and the motivation to be healthy.”
Kieran played rugby league but has stopped to concentrate on his modelling career after suffering several injuries.
He also admitted that a broken nose would do little to help his looks.
He also excelled at the 100m and 200m but he found that it was taking up too much of his time.
“I was putting a lot of effort and getting a little out but with the gym you get results in a few weeks.”
Kieran, who went to Stainburn School in Workington, models under the name of Kieran Jones to keep his personal and professional life separate.
