Workington cricket champs

WORKINGTON Cricket Club is the new North Lancashire and Cumbria League champions for the first time since 1960.

On Saturday, they defeated Keswick by 118 runs to stay two points ahead of defending champions Cockermouth who also won.

Workington posted 279-6 declared - Callum Moffat hitting 108 runs in just 123 balls - and then dismissed Keswick for 161.

Workington shared the league title in 1969 with Penrith and Whitehaven.
