Pupils battle for tag title

KIRKBRIDE School will represent Allerdale at tag rugby in the Cumbria Youth Games in July.
The school’s team came out on top at the Allerdale Primary School Tag Rugby finals at Netherhall School last week.
Seven primary schools took part - each winners of tournaments held by the borough’s secondary schools for their feeder primaries.
There was Bassenthwaite (representing Keswick), Dearham (Netherhall), Kirkbride (Nelson Thomlinson), Richmond Hill (Beacon Hill), Silloth (Solway) and Victoria (the Workington secondaries).
In all 54 schools had taken part in the Allerdale competition which was organised by Cumbria RU and the School Sports Partnership.
The finals were played on a round-robin basis and the final positions were: Kirkbride, 26 points; Lorton, 24; Victoria, 22; Dearham, 18; Bassenthwaite, Richmond Hill, Silloth, all 12.
