Wash out

RAIN severely hit last Saturday’s North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League programme - only five matches got underway and none of them were completed.

Closest to a result was Furness v Cleator. The home side made 137-7 and Cleator’s openers, Paul Duffett (58) and Graham Clark (37), had put on 98-0 when the rain came.

The only other premier game to see play was Duddon v Penrith. Duddon made 59-4 before it was abandoned.

There was no play at Cockermouth v Millom, Keswick v Carlisle, Whitehaven v Dalton, Workington v Haverigg.

In division one there was no play at Cleator Seconds v Vickerstown, Egremont v Wigton, and Lanercost v Appleby Eden.

Play did start at Kirkby v Workington Seconds (17-1), Lindal Moor v Keswick Seconds (36-4), and Ulverston v Hawcoat Park (66-2) but then the rain began.
