Reaching the halfway mark
We've reached the homeward straight.
Three sessions down and three to go. It turns out the first session where we just got measured and chatted about our goals didn't count as a session.
Don't tell John because we don't want him thinking the sessions are anything but torture but I think I'll actually miss our weekly training when we... [more]

No pain no gain
THE dreaded deadline meant I couldn't make it to last week's session with Sarah but her solo efforts meant she could sit back - at home - this week and enjoy a few days off as I was sent packing off to the gym...alone.
In my blind state of busyness last week I had hastily agreed to do the next one on my own and initially thought it... [more]

Where there's willpower, there's a way

But even... [more]

Ouch...the work starts here
It was session two of six today.
I knew we’d have to put in a bit more effort than last week but I hoped John might ease us in gently to this new routine. Wrong.
We did an hour in the torture chamber. Sorry, fitness suite (although I think it was more a lack-of-fitness suite for me today).
We started off with some... [more]

A step into the unknown
When the brides-to-be boot camp at Armathwaite Hall was first suggested I didn't exactly jump at the opportunity.
In truth, you're more likely to find a salmon climbing Skiddaw than me in a gym.
I don't like to turn down a challenge, though, and when the time came to set off for the first session I was almost looking forward to it.... [more]
