Former England football international Alan Kennedy will be the star attraction at Aspatria Hornets’ dinner.
The rugby league club will welcome the ex-Liverpool, Newcastle and Sunderland defender to their Grapes Hotel headquarters, in Market Square, on July 13.
Kennedy won four league titles under the tutelage of the great Bob Paisley, and two European Cups.
He represented England twice, making his debut against Northern Ireland in 1984.
Kennedy’s career spanned 19 years, and also saw him play for Hartlepool and Wigan Athletics.
The 57-year-old is no stranger to West Cumbria after being part of the Liverpool Legends side that took on a Workington Reds select in 2009 and will be at the Hornets’ bash from 7.30pm.
Tickets for the event cost £25 and all money must be paid by June 28.
Comedian Brian Sharpe will also be performing and Howard Nicholson will be compering.
