At last Saturday’s Four Nations clash between England and Australia, the Maryport-based club was the first in Cumbria to receive the new Clubmark gold certificate.

Glasson’s volunteer co-ordinator Tony Tomlinson and volunteers Carol Armstrong were at Wigan’s DW Stadium to receive the certificate on the pitch during half-time

Sport England’s Clubmark scheme aims to help clubs develop a safe, effective and child-friendly environment.

The Rugby Football League works with Clubmark and clubs like Glasson to develop coaches and volunteers, raise standards and create an environment where youngsters can enjoy sport safely.
