Junior rugby league kicks off in West Cumbria

The new full summer season for the West Cumbria Youth Amateur Rugby League will be launched on Sunday, when the Under-12s will be joined by both the Under-14s age group and the Under-16s, to give a full summer season of youth rugby league.

A couple of clubs are still on a recruitment drive to top up their quarter of players, but are more than hopeful of entering the fray within the next couple of weeks.

With the league fixtures now being played in the summer months, an agreement has been reached with all clubs concerned that the fixtures do not have to be played on Sundays, they can now be played within three days either side of the original Sunday fixture date. This we hope will work well for all concerned, players, coaches, clubs, referees, parents. Doing this it will allow everyone to arrange other things on any weekend.

Fixtures U12: Glasson v Lowca, Kells v Wath Brow.

U14: Seaton v Hensingham, Glasson v Seaton A, Kells v Wath Brow.

U16: Ellenborough v Kells, Egremont v Arlecdon.
