A foodie double bill will be served up at Taste Cumbria by Jay Rayner, restaurant critic and regular on TV’s The One Show.
Jazz with Jay – a mixture of chat and music – will be staged on Saturday, September 29, in a marquee at Cockermouth’s Trout Hotel.
Observer food critic Jay will present In My Dining Hell, where he will talk about people’s love of reading bad food reviews.
He will also take questions from his audience.
In the second half of the double bill, pianist Jay will talk about the music that has shaped his life.
He will be accompanied by a few of Britain’s best jazz musicians in performing favourite numbers, including, especially for Taste of Cumbria, a selection of food and drink-related tunes.
Jay says: “If you know nothing about jazz piano, I’m terrific. If you know anything at all, thank you for coming.”
His band will include singer Pat Gordon-Smith, saxophonist Dave Lewis and double-bass player Robert Rickenberg.
