Home trophy tie for Workington Reds if they beat Solihull

Workington Reds will play host to either Hyde United or Nuneaton Borough if they get through their rearranged fixture with Solihull in this year’s FA Trophy.

Reds were due to play Solihull on Saturday but the extreme weather and floods that engulfed the town meant that game had to be called off.

Reds’ Borough Park stadium was one of the few places along the raging torrent’s path not to be flooded but it was deemed unplayable with gas an electric problems.

Chairman Humphrey Dobie has been talking to the FA and said the club will be consulting with the police before reaching a decision on when the game will be played.

He said: “At the moment we are looking at playing our league game against Eastwood Town on Saturday and playing Solihull the following week, but we will be checking all the safety angles before making a decision.”

It is not yet known when the third qualifying round match with Solihull game will be rearranged for.
