Describe Cumbria in three words.
Rural, changeable, beautiful.
What is your favourite thing about Cumbria?
It’s my home.
What makes you most proud to live and work in Cumbria?
The people are adaptable and able to work with any event.
Which stereotypes about Cumbria would you say were wrong?
That Cumbria is not commercial, and that there are only farmers in the county.
Where is your favourite place in Cumbria to go for a night or day out?
For a day out, the Lakeland fells. And for a night out, Theatre by the Lake.
What is your favourite Cumbrian meal?
Cumberland Sausage – but I’m very picky as to which one.
What and where are your favourite shops and tourist attractions in Cumbria?
Kendal for shops. Kirkby Stephen to get a true rural feel. As for tourist attractions – I feel there is no need for them.
If you were recommending Cumbria to a friend, where would you tell them to go, and what would you tell them to do?
I’d tell them to visit Kirkby Stephen, Coniston, Wasdale, Elterwater, and to walk and take tea.
What is your best Cumbrian memory?
I was born and bred on a Lakeland farm with fells and lakes surrounding me.
