Langholm under 17 makes Scotland debut

LANGHOLM Colt Russell Anderson joined the Scotland under 17 squad at Peebles for a weekend training camp.
They played against a Border/City Select last Sunday when the Langholm player turned in a good performance at hooker and the Scotland side won 28-0. Iain Park, the Langholm physio, helped at the game.
The under 17 Scotland squad are at Murrayfield this Sunday against a Newcastle Falcons Academy squad. Robin Hislop of Langholm, listed under Hawick Wanderers, was in prop for the Scotland under 18 team that lost by a narrow 34-26 to France under 18 at Philiphaugh last Sunday. The Scots play Wales at the Greenyards this Sunday.
The Border Reivers under 16 side was demolished 60-0 by Caledonia last Sunday. Langholm Colts player Edward Turner was in lock for the Reivers in the match at Braidholm, Glasgow.
Gillian McCord of Langholm, who plays for RHC Cougars, gained another cap for Scotland women last Saturday but the team lost 51-0 to England. Scotland face Ireland in the play-off for third place this weekend.
