My partner and a freind were travelling along the A595 on Tuesday morning around 2:30 and at Ponsonby, what they can only describe as a big 'black' cat appeared on the road in front of them and then leapt over the hedge....it made the hairs stand up on their arms.!

A few years ago I was crossing the forge at cleator and saw in a field what was unmistakeably an Orangutan. Of course I took up chase, only to be lost as it climbed into trees.

I am sceptic totally but last friday i was travelling down the m6 towards lancaster and i seen to my left in the hills sheep scattering around a field and behind them was a black animal large but moved like a cat not a dog it was bigger than the sheep... now i couldn't say it was a black cat but the hairs on my arm stood up i definately seem something other than a dog...

Hi,

We have been sent an image of the big cat.

The sender says:
"Here is a picture of the cat face to face with myself, around February 2007"

You can see it here:

I saw a Strange creature in my Headlights on Steele Brow several years ago. It was about 22:00 and it turned into a gateway and disappeared It was only later that I realised it was a badger.

As a regular to the area and familair with the prank, I know who is responsible for these sightings. I shall not name the individual in question but I am 99% certain the culprit responsible is a certain old friend of mine from Arlton. Back in the day he was known to prowl around in his big cat costume, and I believe he was the first to instigate the "large wild cat" craze in the country. I know I have spotted him recently up to the same thing, so if you see him again try pulling off his mask! You are a gullable lot, his antics are common knowledge in the area. The person who reported it was probably my friend himself.
