HOW THEY MET: At Lakes College in Workington in September 2001 and started going out in December 2001.
PROPOSAL: On the couple’s second anniversary they went out for the day to Ennerdale and Martin proposed by the lake.
VENUE: Hunday Manor, Workington.
THEME: Jade green and sparkly diamantes.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory princess-style dress with Swarovski crystals along the fitted bodice, heavily laced around the bottom and along the train, ivory veil with hanging diamantes and pearl and diamante tiara, from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.
GROOMSMEN: The groom’s brother Michael McCarron was best man. The bride’s sister’s partner Barry Taylor and nephew Taylor McCarron were ushers. The bride and groom’s nephews Kieran Herbert, Charlie McCarron and Patrick McCarron were page boys. They wore suits with ivory waistcoats from Tom Little, Maryport.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s twin sister Nadia Shaw was maid of honour. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister Stephanie Shaw, the groom’s sister Lauren McCarron and the bride’s best friend Linzi Dockeray. They wore jade green dresses from Olive James Bridal, Egremont.
Melissa Herbert was flower girl and wore an ivory princess-style dress from Olivia James Bridal.
FLOWERS: Cream roses with diamantes from Flowers and Foliage, Whitehaven.
TRANSPORT: A cream Rolls Royce and two cream limousines from A Touch of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: Hunday Manor for a champagne reception for 82 guests and a three-course meal and a further 100 guests for an evening reception and buffet.
TABLE SETTINGS: Tall round glasses with hand-made ivory flowers and sprigs of diamantes and white lights put inside in the evening, from Wedding Decor, Workington.
FAVOURS: Jade green and ivory detailed boxes with mini eggs inside and activity packs for the children.
CAKE: A three-tier square cake of sponge and fruit, handmade flowers with jade green ribbon and heart shapes around the sides, made by a family friend.
FIRST DANCE: A Moment Like This, Leona Lewis.
ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie Nights disco, Workington.
HONEYMOON: Boa Vista, Cape Verde.
