John Patrick sill start on the wing for Workington Town in their clash at Super League Widnes Vikings on Sunday, after signing a new deal with the west Cumbrians.
Former Cockermouth amateur Patrick, 30, has re-signed with the Derwent Park-based outfit after two seasons with the club.
Town joint coach Martin Oglanby said: “Gary [fellow joint coach Charlton] and I first spotted John when he was playing for Cockermouth. We were in charge of the county squad and we brought him straight in. He then spent a couple of seasons with Whitehaven under Ged Stokes in 2009 and 2010 and has since had a couple of seasons with Town.
“John finishes well, has good footwork and upper-body strength. He’s good at fending off players, which is a big asset to his game.”
The Travellers Rest Supporters Club and Red House Supporters Club are running coaches to the game and fans wanting to book seats should contact Tony (Travelers Rest) on 07850 552229 or Red House's Gary on 07921 770775 or Paul on 07835 426900.
Two events have already been organised by James Robinson's testimonial committee. There will be a quiz night at the Travellers Rest on Thursday, January 17 (8pm).
The entry fee will be £5 for a team of four.
And then on Thursday, January 31, there will be a Race Night at the Red House, also an 8pm start.
