A ROAD near Maryport Golf Course has been closed due the likelihood of danger to the public.
In a notice served by Cumbria County Council the passage of all traffic along a section of the C2008 from its junction with the B5300, extending in an easterly direction for a total distance of about 200 metres, is closed to all traffic.
This is as a result of the dangerous condition of the carriageway.
The notice will be in force for a period of up to 21 days from June 21, as and when the relevant signs are displayed.
It is likely that after this time the authority will issue a further 21-day notice and if necessary follow that with a temporary 18-month order.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the unrestricted section of the C2003, the A596 and the B5300.
