A road in West Cumbria will reopen following five days out of action, this week.

In order to carry out urgent drainage works, Cumbria County Council issued a notice with immediate effect prohibiting the passage of vehicular traffic along U2085, New House Faulds, Oughterside.

The notice is in place from its junction with the C2023, extending in a westerly direction for a total distance of 511 metres, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

They announced: "This notice will be in force for a period not exceeding 5 days from 14th July 2021."

It is expected that the works will take 5 days and so the route should be open fully on July 21.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
