A DECORATIVE flower tower will have to be replaced after being destroyed by a van.
CCTV caught the incident on camera in Maryport's town centre, Senhouse Street.
Maryport Town Council said the cost of rebuilding and resetting the flower tower into the road will be more than £700.
The CCTV footage shows a van attempting to pass a lorry, which was in a loading bay waiting to unload supplies to Heron Foods.
The van hit the tower, knocking it out of place and damaging the tiers.
The driver was seen getting out of his vehicle, inspecting the damage and driving away.
Town clerk Lisa Douglas said the company that had the logo on the van had been contacted.
She said: "We have been told that they are looking at whether they will foot the bill for repairs or refer it to their insurance company."
The flower towers are part of a council attempt to beautify Maryport.
