WORKINGTON Zebra Finches will walk out at the 'home of rugby' this afternoon, as they play in an enormous cup final.

Workington Zebra Finches RUFC secured a place in the final of the Papa John's Junior Cup, a National Junior Plate Final and the first national final for a team at Workington Zebras since the 1970s last month.

The club were left disappointed when they were informed by their opponents in the final, Avonmouth Ladies, that the match had been moved to former Worcester Warriors ground Sixways Stadium, leading officials and volunteers at the club to ‘do some digging’ into what was going on.

However, after a change of decision from the RFL, the women will now step out on the hallowed turf to play in the cup final.

The ladies have now completed their final prep and are getting ready to play in the final at 4pm.

The team have received much support - Workington Reds AFC said: "Good luck Finches, Bring the trophy home."
