Police in the Allerdale area have been conducting speed checks.
This is in response to concerns raised by residents about the issue in parts of Workington.
Similar checks have been taking place in other parts of the county where concerns have been raised.
A spokesperson said: "Recent concerns from residents in Workington highlighted speeding issues in the area of Ashfield. In response to this, PCSO 5421 and PC 2533 conducted speed checks on Newlands Lane and Ashfield Road today.
"Despite the rainy weather, happy to report no speeding issues."
