A MARYPORT Rescue team was called out to a boat which was taking on water in the towns harbour on New Year's Day.
Maryport Rescue were called out to Maryport Harbour & Marina to attend to the vessel “Tavros” which had been taking on water at 12pm on January 1.
The team had assessed the situation earlier on in the day and decided not to attend until they had taken part in the Allonby Dook, that was already planned for the day, due to the situation not being urgent.
In a statement on social media, Maryport Rescue said: "As the team were already in involved in the Allonby Dook it was decided to attend following the Dook as there wasn't an immediate response required.
"Once on scene the team quickly deployed 2 water pumps and pumped out the vessel taking around two hours to complete."
