A POPULAR Cockermouth pub is looking for a new landlord to breathe new life into the venue, following its closure last year.
The Brown Cow, on Main Street in Cockermouth, closed in February 2023 and is owned by Star Pubs and Bars, a business owned by Heineken UK.
The company is now looking for a business or business person to take over the pub, which is said to have 'the makings of a great quality local.'
A spokesman for Star Pubs and Bars said: “We are keen to reopen The Brown Cow at Cockermouth as soon as possible.
"It’s a beautiful old pub with lots of character and charm in good decorative order in a prominent position in the middle of the town.
"It has been a thriving pub in the past and has all the makings of a great quality local.
"Inside it has a flexible space with room for a dining area, a bar area for those wanting to enjoy drinks and socialising and a raised sports zone - kitted out with a pool table - that is also perfect for staging live entertainment.
"The Brown Cow has a well-equipped commercial kitchen and comes with a three bed flat for the licensee.
“This is an excellent business opportunity for experienced licensees as well as those who’ve not run a pub before but have hospitality experience or have managed a customer facing business.
"The pub is available on flexible terms. Anyone interested in finding out more can contact Star Pubs & Bars’ recruitment team on 08085 949596.”
