A MAN in his 80s was found dead by police after reports of a body being discovered near a main road over the Christmas period.
Police were contacted at 12.46pm on December 27 with a report of a body being found just off the A595, heading towards Distington.
A man, aged in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Cumbria Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.
