A POPULAR Lake District walking route has been partially closed following Storm Isha battering the county over the weekend, with re-assessments taking place today to see if the path can re-open to walkers.
A section of the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway trail was temporarily closed due to storm damage from Storm Isha.
The path is closed from Low Briery Holiday Park to Brundholme Bottom and this section, the the authority saying their main concern yesterday was the tree resting on a power line which powered a nearby holiday park.
In a statement yesterday, the Lake District National Park Authority said: "A section of the K2T remains closed following last night’s storm.
"The team have dealt with some trees today, but there are more to fell. The biggest risk currently is a tree resting on an overhead power line that feeds Low Briery holiday park.
"Electricity Northwest have been contacted. We have had to barrier and close the trail today between Low Briery Holiday park and Brundholme Woods area. We will assess again tomorrow."
