A WEST Cumbrian charity has sent their best wishes to the King, following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis this week.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria has sent well wishes for a speedy recovery to King Charles III after the announcement from Buckingham Palace of his cancer diagnosis.
In a statement on Monday, February 5, Buckingham Palace said: "His Majesty’s condition is benign, and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure.
"The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.”
Formerly as the Prince of Wales, King Charles III became patron of Hospice at Home West Cumbria in January 1997. In 2014 he visited the charity to officially mark the opening of their Therapy and Information Centre and former hospice shop in Finkle Street, Workington.
Julie Monk, chief executive for Hospice at Home West Cumbria said: “We all wish His Majesty a full and speedy recovery.
"He has supported our charity for many years and we have been privileged to have welcomed him as a visitor, and a patron.
"I am sure everyone will join me in sending our thoughts and best wishes to His Majesty and The Royal Family.”
