Launched by Newsquest Cumbria, the awards are in partnership for the second year running with Cumbrian accountants David Allen, who are also sponsoring the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners will be celebrated in a glittering awards ceremony on Friday, August 16 at the Greenhill Hotel, near Wigton, when our host for the evening will once again be BBC Radio 4 Farming Today presenter, Caz Graham.

Alongside farming’s core sectors, dairy, beef, sheep and machinery there is also recognition in other valued groups such as students, young farmers’ clubs, new entrants, food, local agricultural businesses, and the huge number of diversifications, now so crucial to many businesses. Also returning are our Farming Family Business of the Year and Women in Agriculture categories.

This year we are holding a live auction with proceeds going to our nominated charities, Farming Community Network (FCN) and the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

The awards will be judged by a panel of respected industry experts and specialists, headed by Michael Peile, partner at Cumbrian accountants David Allen.
