A parliamentary event was held to mark the first anniversary of The National Independent Lifeboat Association (NILA).
The celebration, hosted by founder and honorary president Anthony Mangnall MP, took place on March 4.
It served to highlight the work of over fifty independent lifeboat organisations across the UK.
Maritime minister, Lord Davies of Gower, attended the event, delivering a heartfelt message of gratitude.
He said: "The wellbeing of those at sea is one of my top priorities as Minister."
NILA chair, Neil Dalton spoke on the historical challenges they face.
Anthony Mangnall MP also expressed the growth and future objectives of NILA.
He said: "We have come a long way since its creation, but of course, there is more to be done".
Assistant chief coastguard Richard Hackwell praised NILA on their first anniversary for representing independent lifeboat organisations and their essential work.
