TWO thrill-seeking brothers are marking the decade-long success of their outdoor activity hub, Keswick Extreme.

For a decade, the 53-year-old siblings have provided a variety of adventurous outdoor pursuits including river tubing, Via Ferrata, ghyll scrambling, abseiling, mine climbing, raft building, and mountaineering to both local residents and Lake District tourists.

Sean and Jason O'Rourke's passion for being in the outdoors has played a crucial role in their business.

"It's been great, the business has really built over 10 years," Sean said.

"When we first started we were down in a shipping container down by the marina, we've grown from that to a personalised two-storey unit behind the Pencil Factory, it's gone from strength to strength," he said.

Previously speaking to the News & Star, Jason highlighted the long hours that come with the job.

"It's a lot of long hours, we're normally doing about 90-100 hours a week, but the good side of it is when we're not manic in the winter, we can take as much time off to do what we love which is skiing and mountaineering.

"You see a different perception of people's personalities when they're out with us," Jason said.

In celebration of their business's 10-year milestone, the brothers, who bring over 30 years of outdoor experience to the business' forefront, have decided to offer their customers a special deal.

The group caters to business outings, school trips as well as family and friend group outings.

"We wanted to say thanks to our clients for the last ten years, so we're offering 10 per cent off for our tenth year - across the board for all activities.

"We hope the offer gives everybody a chance to get outside, get the kids off the phones and do some activities," Sean said.
