RESIDENTS of West Cumbria will be in for an annual treat later this year as a local group will once again lead tours around a town castle.
Cockermouth Civic Trust have announced the dates this year when their volunteers will be leading tours of Cockermouth castle.
They have now been conducting tours annually since 2011. There will be six tours this year, three on June 14, 15 and 16, and three on September 27, 28 and 29, all at 2pm.
Admission will be by pre-booked ticket only and the tickets for the three June tours will be available from the Tourist Information Centre from 10am on Saturday May 4.
Applications must be made in person with a limit of four tickets per person. The tours are outdoor with steep steps and high drops so visitors need to be reasonably fit. Tours are not suitable for children under 7 or for pets.
