A NUMBER of suspicious items were recovered from a tent in the Lake District, after it was discovered abandoned in stormy weather conditions.
Allerdale Police reported yesterday, April 16, that they had been called to Catbells in the Lake District to reports of a tent abandoned on the mountain, with two small bags found containing 'suspected illegal substances'.
Two police officers had to hike up the mountain to retrieve the items.
In a statement online, Allerdale Police said: "PCSOs 5417 and 5375 responded to a report of a tent being abandoned on Catbells and two small bags containing suspected illegal substances being located with it.
"PCSO's 5417 and 5375 hiked up Catbells in the stormy weather conditions to retrieved the suspicious items."
