Eleven new Workington Community Fire Cadets have celebrated their graduation by demonstrating their newly acquired skills.

The Cadets, who completed the four-month programme run by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, showcased hose and ladder work at a staged property fire, first aid, and casualty extrication from a mock road traffic collision.

The celebratory event, attended by families, friends, and senior officers from the service, was held at Workington Fire Station.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Ian Seel presented the Cadets with certificates in addition to their uniforms for their next phase of development.

The ACFO acknowledged current Cadets and volunteer instructors with rank promotions and community contribution awards.

Gratitude was given to the existing Cadets and all four watches from Workington Fire Station who supported the programme.
